Aer lingus first class review12/18/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() I don't know which infuriated me more, the fact that they openly admit that it's a waste of time or that they had the audacity to use the word "honestly" Apart from that, yes you guessed it, go online!!!!! Steer well clear of this airline if you plan on bringing luggage or possessions that you'd like to see again or expect any level of professionalism.įirstly they are only getting a 1* review because I can't put in a -10* review. Missing Cigarettes Aer Lingus claim they "fell out" but hope welcome me aboard soon? Did actually speak to their customer services and told "honestly you're wasting your time". All medication needs to be dumped for obvious reasons. Eventually did have to go on line and the baggage was delivered, but no, there's more The bag had been opened, personal medication opened and scattered around the case and 200 cigarettes missing. Asked where my baggage actually was, told to go online. Asked about process and what I was entitled to from a toiletries point of view (expenses), told to go online, asked when I could find out about when to expect my bag, told to go online. When I went to Aer Lingus missing baggage I was told to go on line. So flying back from Isle of Man, my baggage failed to appear on the carousel. Please do not fly with Aer Lingus, it's one of the worst Airlines.ĭelayed Baggage and Theft, unresponsive dismissive customer service I'm going to complain with Ombudsman, I've had enough, I had lots of problems because that night my flight got cancelled. I have contacted customer service through different channel like over the phone and social media and they don't even have a clue about the EU regulation and compensation. I submitted my claim at the beginning of September and I'm still waiting for a response. Now under the EU regulation 261 2004 I'm entitled to get a compensation on top of the refund I received as my flight was cancelled and delayed for more than 5 hours. They didn't even help me book the hotel or make any arrangements that night, okay, I paid from my own pocket as I was told I was going to get the refund for it, I submitted the claim for the refund and I got my money back. I had a flight cancelled back in August, my flight got rescheduled to the next day. 3) If you value your time as well as the time of others, have employment and or go to school, I recommend to avoid them as the devil does holy water.Refusing to approve my compensation under the EU Regulation 2) If you get a kick out of unpredictable travel hiccups, not knowing if, when and where you are going and have unlimited funds, I highly recommend Air Lingus. 1) If they would put as much effort into being on time as they are putting into weaseling their way out of compensation, they could be a world class airline. How a company deals with them is what matters! Here my conclusion. Our luggage arrived piece by piece about six days later. You guessed it ….Air Lingus was late yet again and we missed that flight as well! Hotel again, we’re put on another flight and arrived back home 3 days late. We booked a flight from Dublin to Edinburg Air Lingus) and from there to Toronto with Air Canada. Hotel stay on us! That seemed unreasonable as we needed to go back to work and school. We were offered to go on another flight (two of us two days later, three of us three days later). Return flight was arriving late in Dublin and so we missed the connection. We booked this as two separate trips, as per customer service recommendation. We booked a trip for a family of five ( with little children) going from Toronto to Dublin, then five days later to Hamburg ( $7000). Aer Lingus has the worst customer support system and now know to stay far away from them when searching for flights. I only want the miles flown to be credited to my Alaska Airlines plan as I was expecting. I wasn't looking for money, nor a refund. ![]() After 5 calls with Aer Lingus Customer Support (some with pre-travel support and one with post travel support) I am told there is nothing that can be done. Now, months after our travel, I am told that our tickets were assigned a class code (which I could never see when I was purchasing) that only gives us 1100 credited miles for 9800 actual flight miles. So I had an expectation of what I was going to receive and some knowledge of what to expect. I researched what mileage plan benefits would be available to us prior to the purchase. ![]() I chose Aer Lingus as they are listed as a partner airline with Alaska Airlines. I purchased 4 round trip tickets on Aer Lingus, and through their website, months before our travel dates. ![]()
